RNBA Welcomes Alan Oldham

RNBA is very excited to announce that Alan Oldham will be joining us as a our new HP Coach. He brings with him 12 years of rowing experience and a passion for rowing that will benefit all our athletes and coaches. Alan will be based out of Fredericton at the Fredericton Rowing Club, and will contribute to athlete and coach development within the entire province of New Brunswick.
The High Performance Coach Position is financially supported by the Province of New Brunswick-Department of Wellness, Culture and Sport, the Fredericton Rowing Club and Rowing New Brunswick Aviron.

High Performance Coach
Rowing New Brunswick Aviron is seeking an experienced and energetic High Performance Rowing Coach who will work in partnership with staff and volunteers to advance High Performance rowing in the province of New Brunswick. The ideal candidate is committed to working with New Brunswick’s Train to Train and Train to Compete athletes on a day-to-day basis. This will occur in a Training Group setting leading to improved national results and stronger national team presence. This is a full-time, 1-year contract position that, provided all criteria and standards are met, will evolve into a four-eight year renewable position.
Based out of Fredericton, New Brunswick the Coach will be expected to contribute to the culture of high performance sport within the province of New Brunswick. This position reports to a personnel committee that includes a representative from Rowing NB and the Fredericton Rowing Club.

RNBA Receives Funding for Full-time Coach position

RNBA is pleased to announce that we have received government funding to help support the hire of a full-time coach for 4 years. RNBA will be partnering with the Fredericton Rowing Club to deliver a number of provincial programs that fall under the scope of this hire.
Impressive results for Drummond and Abbass at RCA's NRCs!

Keegan Drummond brought home the gold while racing a composite boat at this year's RCA National Rowing Championships. Keegan and crewmate Matthew Wortley (Ontario) finished in a time of 6:54.86, fast enough for the first place finish in the U23M2-.
Jamie Abbass also had an impressive weekend of racing, finishing 4th in the M1X. Complete results can be find at the following link:

Long Term Athlete Development Funding Received

Rowing New Brunsiwck Aviron is excited to announce that we have received $8000 from the Province of New Brunswick for Implementation of Long Term Athlete Development (LTAD) Initiatives. All three of our NB rowing clubs were successful in their applications for funding that includes sculling oar purchases and equipment required for Adaptive programming. Funding will also be dedicated to new equipment for the LTR Skills event, and for a RCA LTAD expert to visit our province to provide guidance on how to implement LTAD programs.
